Woven Coir Geotextile 900 GSM

The tightest, strongest weave, for channels, banks and shorelines.

Extra Heavy
Woven coir geotextile · coir netting

900 GSM

Our heaviest woven grade. The dense weave covers more than half the ground and has the highest strength in the range, for places where water runs along the surface and the soil must not move.

Installation

Laying it right

  1. 01Prepare and seedGrade smooth and remove rocks and debris, which can lift the mesh. Seed before or after laying, except 900 GSM, which is seeded first.
  2. 02Anchor trenchesCut trenches about 30 cm deep and 15 cm wide at the top and ends. Pin the roll in the top trench, backfill and compact.
  3. 03Roll downhillUnroll in the direction water flows, loosely, so the mesh follows the ground. Overlap about 15 cm side to side and 20 cm end to end.
  4. 04Pin it downU-pins about 15 cm or J-hooks about 22 cm of 3 mm wire, or wooden pegs, about 50–75 cm apart and 30–50 cm along overlaps.

Questions

About 900 GSM

Do I seed before or after laying 900 GSM?

Before. Caltrans notes 900 GSM netting is too dense to seed through effectively once it is down. Plugs and cuttings can be planted through the mesh.

Is it suitable for fast water?

It is the strongest grade in our range and the usual choice for channels and banks. Very high-energy sites may still need engineered protection, so share your design flows with us.

How much does a roll weigh?

The fabric weighs 0.9 kg per square metre, so a 2 × 50 m roll is about 90 kg before packing.
